COUNSELING for GRIEF & LOSS

IN-PERSON TEHRAPY IN LITTLETON & ONLINE ACROSS COLORADO

Are you experiencing pain and isolation after the death of a loved one?

Do you feel uncertain how to cope with grief?

Feeling stuck with “unfinished business?”

The death of a loved one can turn your world upside down, leave you feeling out of control, and unable to bear any more heartache. Many people are alone in their grief, not having supports to talk to, or feel pressured to be “over it.” But the truth is you will never fully “get over” it, your grief will become a part of your life story. You may be yearning for your loved one, and struggling to mourn and cope with the loss. Experiencing the emotions of grief can feel like a roller coaster, and you may be asking yourself “is it normal to feel this way?”

Through my professional training and experience, coupled with my personal journey of grief, I am able to be alongside you in your pain. To just “be with” you in your feelings, thoughts, and not force you to resolve anything.

I specialize in several types of bereavement, including a sudden or tragic death (i.e. accident, suicide, homicide, etc), and untimely deaths due to medical issues and terminal illness. Through our work, I help grieving clients to cope with the range of emotions after a death, explore spiritual beliefs and values, and help to make meaning of the grief journey.

In my work with clients I use a “companioning” model, which means I am totally present to the mourner, the temporary guardian of your soul, and do not push to resolve or fix your grief.  I help clients identify the emotions and phases of mourning that are common, provide helpful coping skills, and explore the ways in which each mourner makes sense out of what has happened. For clients who may want a spiritual approach, I honor their beliefs, values clarification, and allow space for any questions that may arise.

My journey to becoming a therapist was led by my desire to ease the loneliness others experience in grief and to help keep the memory of the loved one alive. Grief is not about letting go, it's about holding on in a new way. I love connecting with clients in a way that lets their grief be truly heard, visible and safe to share. I’m grateful to witness the renewed hope and purpose clients find when feeling supported. My approach is genuine, soft, caring, and supportive of each person's unique grief journey.

If you are done feeling alone and in pain, reach out to me today. I am here to show up and be with you.
